Kris serves the Penn State research administration community with a particular focus on data security, data acquisition, and export compliance. She coordinates with Penn State IT – Information Security and the Office of Ethics and Compliance to respond to emerging data security and export compliance needs. Kris also works closely with the Office for Research Protections to coordinate efforts and identify opportunities for increasing efficiency, accuracy, and transparency of human subjects data acquisitions and transfers.
Prior to joining the Office of Sponsored Programs in 2017, she began her research administration career at Penn State in the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences’ Meteorology Department. She transitioned to the College of Engineering primarily focusing on Post-Award Research Administration. Kris is a national expert in data use and is serving as the Co-Chair for the Data Transfer and Use Agreement working group for the Federal Demonstration Partnership. Kris has a Bachelor’s Degree from Penn State in Applied Statistics with an emphasis in Industrial Engineering.
